Education is a central component of CAC’s mission as we strive to make a positive impact on our community in a creative way.
Our community outreach programs allow families with limited resources to enroll in arts education classes, workshops, and after-school programs. These programs provide a safe, positive learning environment for children to express themselves, build positive self-esteem, and learn new skills.
Our free after-school and weekend workshops serve nearly 1,500 students from local schools and mentorship programs throughout the year. Students create murals, paint self-portraits, build cutting boards in our MakerSpace, learn to sew costumes, create hand-built sculptures and so much more!
"Chesapeake after-school programs are valuable outlets for our children...the nurturing environment quickly warmed hearts and gave my child and I a chance to embrace diversity, the arts and life in general.”
- After-School Parent
